Some of the highlights include:
The Dalton Palmer Memorial Playground: Opened on September 28th, 2018! It is the tallest playground in Kansas! Located directly to the South of the Train Depot at 618 State St.
The Augusta Historic Theatre: Tucked in to Augusta’s downtown is the fabled Augusta Historic Theatre. This working Art Deco Theatre, built in 1935, is the first facility of its kind to be completely lit by neon lights! It claims a place on the National Register of Historic Places, and is the venue for many entertaining movies throughout the year.

C.N. James Log Cabin: Built in 1868, this hand-hewn cottonwood log cabin housed the city’s first school, post office, and general store. It is one of the only two pioneer houses in Kansas that is still on its original site.
The Augusta Historical Museum: This museum showcases the town’s pioneer beginnings, the arrival of the railroad and the Augusta’s place in the oil boom. As a local favorite, this museum is a must when sightseeing in Augusta for history buffs and casual visitors alike.

The Works Progress Administration (WPA) Mural: Aptly named “Kansas Gushers,” this mural, depicting the brave farming spirit that made the state great, is located in the U.S. Post Office at 119 E. 5th Avenue in downtown Augusta.

The Kansas Museum of Military History: This museum displays more than 10,000 artifacts representing each war in which Kansans has participated.
PlayPark Pointe: One of the many community-built parks within Augusta, this one is one of Butler County’s more unique places, due to its imagination and medieval castle-like structure.
Splash Pad: Located in Shryock Park near the PlayPark Pointe, this amenity was added in 2016. Fun for all ages!
Augusta’s Municipal Pool: This spot is perfect for summertime swims.
The Augusta City Lake: The 265-acre Augusta City Lake is a great spot for fishing, sailing or walking.
Whitewater River & Walnut River: These two rivers meet near Augusta and create an amazing location for walks, picnics, and true enjoyment of the outdoors.
The Flint Hills – The Flint Hills lay on the edge of some of the most beautiful prairie land in the United States. They make the perfect place for a hike or an unforgettable outdoor photo opp.
